Horn Problem

I searched and found out that the solder points in our horn system go bad but it wasnt specific enough for me to know where or how to fix this problem. Can anyone help me out? Or does anyone have any other ideas why my horn wouldnt work? My horn used to work off and on and now its completely dead. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Search.

Bad horn means bad solder points in the cpu underneat the driver side dash, near the floor. Icemark sells reconditioned ones.

Main board in the CPU will need to be re-soldered if the horn is hooked up correctly at the steering wheel and horn itself.

If it is the CPU, I normally replace the relay as well, but I suppose you could just try resoldering that main board.

ECU has nothing to do with the Horn...

And the steering wheel contacts for the horn will not hold up to repeated use... you need a relay.

I think ANY inspection for a car requires at the minimum, a working horn, lights, and wipers.

Take the drivers side left kickpanel off, jiggle the wires going into the cpu(on the side that is facing you). Hold down the horn while you do this. It should honk. If it doesnt, go up front, and put 12 volts to each horn, directly off the battery(the horns ground themselves),If they both fire, Pull the CPU out. Resolder the CPU, or send it to Icemark.

This works. I had to do it myself to get my car to pass inspection. Never had a problem with it since.

Gotta love'm!! LoL

I would do the same as we suggested for the other guy. Pull your CPU and resolder all the points. You will be amazed at how easy of a fix it is.
