hood latch broke and hood is closed
Today I went to open my hood, I pulled the release, I go to open it it's not popped. Go to try again, its broken.
Either the cable broke or it detatched from the latch. There is no tension on it at all.
What I need to know is how I can open my hood.
Car is an 88 tII.

As for the poster, ive never tried but im sure you can access the latch from underneath and pop it just to find and fix the problem.

a couple of months back someone had the same thing go wrong..and he accessed the front hoood latch by going under the car.and do it "manually(no cable pulling). you may be able to find it in the second gen archives..grab a flashlight and see what you are up against..no sense in workin "blind"..My dad(bless his soul) would have had the hood open in twenty seconds..Chainsaw!!..ouch..
