I have hread about HKS T04E is good for drifting on a s5 13bt FC.
And it is cheap in 2nd hand.
my question is: Do i need to get a aftermarket mainfold to install it? or it will fit factory one.

Yes, you would need a different manifold. There are no turbos that I know of that are a direct bolt-on for the stock manifold. That's why hybrids are so popular. You can get a hybrid for cheap that'll do close to 400hp.

Yes, you need one. I can take a picture of my HKS T04 and mani if you would like to see what one looks like.

DO you have to run new lines for the t04 or can you just bolt on the new mani and of course external wastegate... then bolt it up and go?

Does anyone know where to get the HKS T04E. They seem to have discontinued it. I am looking for one.

I have seen that hks cast iron piece in person, not exactly a piece designed for performance. There are a few places making SS tubular units, SRmotorsports, HKS, etc. Hell there are even people on here:

Waste of time.
The turbo is really only efficient up to around 300 at the wheels, but somebody made around 400hp recently - dunno how that was possible.

I prefer a GT35R for better power!

for an aftermarket exhaust manifold the tubing is quite short isnt it? i thought longer tubing = better exhaust flow or somethin like that? i remember someone saying it works like a a garden hose where u turn it off and water still comes out at the same pressure lol somethin like that.

Yes a custom mani with longer runners would be better as stated in previous threads.

But the work involved in making a long runner mani is more than the cast log manifold. So it enters the cost area.

If your kit is too much then people wont buy it.

Thats why HKS for a long while used log style cast manifolds.

They work well, are very bullet proof and are not a fortune.

It all comes down to the amount of money your willing to spend. Of course a long separate runner SS manifold mated to a Ball bearing GT series turbo would be awesome. But not everyone has the extra $$ to spend on that.
