I think they both are quite effective however remember it is all about usable air filter surface area I still stand behind the K&N and always will but I have used the Apexi, blitz and hks filters and they are fine

yeah well me personally i have always used K&N but like i said my car came with the HKS i was about to change it an some frieds told me that it was a high performace reuseable air filter so i didnt change it but i'm still really thinkin about it cause i'm an original K&N person. I have had amazin results from K&N an im still unsure about this HKS thing

yeah thanks mazdadude that really put it in the view i was lookin for altho the apexi looks the best i think i would still go with the K&N just cause its always done me right. I have also noticed that performance an cleanliness isnt everything tho i have in the past noticed fuel milage gains using the K&N filter. has anyone here had a simalar affect

just make sure the filter is clean...... heck you should make sure the filter is clean regardless if you have a hks or k&n...
you wont see many gains from just an intake... well your car might sound different
since you are new i suggest keeping your car as stock as possible and driving the **** out of it. youll enjoy your car that way way more than by modding it.
have fun with your fc!!
