Hissing and lack of pressure
I have an 88 vert and im not sure if its just the cold or my engine but it wont rev past 3500 rpm and I lose power at about 3000 and it smell like gasoline I read something about vac lines and cat converters but was hoping it was something stupid... any help would be excellent.

Don't drive the car until you fix your problem... Especially if it's a fuel related issue.
Check your vacuum lines, fuel lines, fuel pressure regulator, and pulsation dampener. It's a possibility that the screw fell out in the end of your pulsation dampener. (Not sure if it is on the primary or secondary fuel rail on the convertible.) There is a "banjo bolt" fix for the PD somewhere on the forum. Also, there is a vacuum line that goes to the FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) on one of your fuel lines. Check to see if that vacuum line is still attached. This should all be a good start.
