Question Audio Experts PLEASE HELP!

OK where to begin, ive searched and searched this forum and others and am not finding the answers i need, heres the situation

1990 GTU

Bought a cd player and 2 4inch and 2 61/2inch speakers,

Front speakers went in perfect, the rear ones didnt drop in as easy as the front but iwas able to eventually get em in place.

Now on to the cd player, the idiot at best buy gave me the wrong connecters to mate up the old connector with the new cd connector, so i figured id do what ive always done when im put in the situation and cut the old connectors and splice to the new cd player wires. I was under the impression that the old/new wiring diagram i pulled off a audio forum was correct but it tuned out the wires were diffrent, found a diagram on this site but the guy didnt include the (+/-) for the speakers and i wasnt about to guess.

So im guna try to get the new connectors from the guy at best buy after work, and then splice the old connector that i cut off back on.

Now i hear people talkin about amps and rewiring all the spearks and so on BUT lookin at the online FSM at
http://208.62.166.66/guest/shop_manu...cal_system.pdf

on page 88, it shows my stock stereo unit which is a type2 radio/tape
then on page 91 it shows the diagram for the type 2, the only amp on my car is for the door subs, which i cut the wires to right at the subs when i first got the car cause they were crakin badly. so from how it looks im not even using that amp and the 4 speakers i do use dont run off a amp but run directly to the unit.

SO, am i going to be able to jst get the new connectors for my 90 rx7 and be able to plug it in and go???
the 2 problems i see are guna be the antenna since there are 2jacks and the power ant wire since its negative is this correct, can some one give me detailed instructions on how i should handle??
thanks for any and all help
-ryan

Ok, as for the antenna...
Use a relay. Use the power antenna line from your CD player as the switched feed, and ground out the input, and the output would go to the antenna motor.
There is only one of the two plugs that will work, and that's the power antenna. Windshield antenna suxx0rz anyway.

As for the amps, I don't know. I bypassed all of mine as far as I can see.

Ok here is how you find + and - for a speaker.

1) find the speaker wires and strip the ends

2) find a 9V battery and tap the wires to the speaker leads.
you will here the speaker pop.
here is the trick.

watch the speaker cone, if the cone moves outward you have it "inphase"
meaning the wire on the + terminal is + wire , and the wire on the - terminal is - wire.

if the cone moves inward, just reverse the connection to the battery.

Dunno where you've been looking, but here's just a small selection from the long list of threads found just by searching the 2nd Gen section for the word "antenna". I guarantee they'll answer all of your questions several times over.

Safest way I've found to check 'phase' is to simply play both channels at the same time. Switch wires on one of the channels until you get the best bass response..there will be a difference. Best bass response=in phase.

That is why I said tapp the wire to the battery...
Also if you ruin a speaker, (tweeters exculded) with a 9v battery it was a bad speaker to begin with.

wow this is a super old thread but if the speakers raddle its probably because you didnt fasten them down good enough or something else is raddling

I almost always have my antenna so that it doesnt go 6 feet up in the air and look ridiculous... basically I mean I dont use the antenna and I still get all local stations.
