The boost gauge replaces the volt gauge in turbo, doesn't it? So you can't check your volts easily. Because I'd be suspecting a bad voltage regulator - had that happen once on an 80's 200sx I used to have - as revs picked up from idle, several of the gauges quickly moved to out-of-normal range, and warning lights and chimes started - and the lights, interior and exterior also quickly got very bright. You might have to run it at night to notice tho.

The stock gauges are getting old and a little funky. Anytime an oil pressure problem is suspected it is best to start with another gauge to verify there is an actual problem.

Can you describe this "bell"? Is it a buzzing or a beeping?

Good info on checking pressure with another gauge first. The only time I ever had high oil pressure in my 88 n/a, I was driving on the highway, and the gauge pegged at the top. It was acting weird and fluctuating. Being the smart guy that I am, kept driving for another hour. It just so happens that I wanted to change my oil. Brought it into a quicky lube, they pulled off the oil filter, and then asked me why there was an o-ring under the filter. Not intimately knowing the FC, I of course blamed them! It wasn't until a few months later when I got to know the rotary a little better, that I realized the o-ring was from the front cover. When it came loose, it must have restricted flow at the filter, after the pressure sensor, and did actually give me high pressure... up to the filter

Ended up loosing an apex seal on that engine. Never saw the inside of it, as I farmed out the job!
