High idle since...

Well, yesterday i installed a new Altenator after finding out mine WAS bad. So i replaced it with another 70 amp S4 altenator. No problems, took 10 min, and it's back in the car. Only problem i have is the idle is substantially higher than it use to be

It's up to 1200-1300. I did not change anything else, it just started doing this. I know it's easy to change the idle, but can anyone explain why my idle jumped up so high? from the usuall 750, no up to 12-1300 rpms. Any idea's?

-Markus

p.s i didnt touch anything else. just installed the new alt.

Could've bumped a vac line off in the process, or something simple like that. Or your old alternator was putting a hell of a strain on the engine
