just take them out... all you gotta do is ask around and you can find someone to do it.... and i found out that if you take out your cats yourself, then the muffler shop has no problem with it, because its already gone... if THEY take it out then they can get in trouble, thats why no legitimate shop will take em out, but if its already off then its another story and they can do whatever you'd like.

so if i bought the
EX800626 Bönez 2.5" SuperFlo System (auto 86-88 only) $315
and
EX400111 Bolt and Gasket Kit (for EX800625/6, EX800523) $20

it would replance the WHOLE system?

It's against federal law to remove the emissions control equipment from any vehicle which originally came with it.

Regardless of whether your state tests for it or not, it's still not legal. Most shops will work on a car that has a cat missing as long as they are behind the area the cat once occupied.

He's gotta pass visual and sniffer inspections in NJ so telling him to get a test pipe really doesn't help much.

DoOnie, Be sure that whatever you get is made specifically for the rotary. I destroyed the innards of an all steel muffler in less than an oil change from normal driving. (moroso was gonna give me another one, Summit gave me a refund )

Yes this will replace everything from the stock exhaust manifold to the stock catback (Y-pipe). I had this, was a very good system and would recommend it if you dont want a header.

Straight pipe is commonly known as a test pipe when referring to cat removal.

How have you helped him at all? You told him to do something which potentially will give him a healthy fine and most certainly will get his car to fail its annual inspection. Way to go...

From what I've heard the bonez is a decent unit and will hold up. Don't let her con you into just any old cat. You'll spend way more swapping it later.

Muffler shops might have the rotary safe stuff but I'd be afraid of hella mark up on them as they're gonna be special order there too. Get your mom to read this and or PM me and we'll buy you some time. lol

Go for the Bonez man, it's an awesome setup. Easily worth every penny spent...

Replacing all three cats with stock will cost you TWICE what that Bonez unit will cost!!!

Politely explain to your Mum how you've already ordered the good one, and you're just waiting for it to be delivered....
