My car's check engine light will flash under accleration. i changed the 02 thinking thats what it was, but it still flashes. where can i buy a code reader? or will like autozone read it for me? i have all the emissions stuff removed and the cat gutted, could something in that system not being connected trigger the light?

 

look at your leading coil. see a green single plug? put a wire in that and ground it

now turn your key to ignition

watch the check engine light flash. (short = 1 long = 10) the FSM explains it better

go to fc3s.org and d/l the fuel section of the FSM that has all the codes and a trouble shooting guide for the codes you have.

will a code still pull up only if the check engine light comes on upon acceleration?

 

Yes it should, as it detects the problem.

 

a disconnected 02 sensor will not cause the engine light to come on.
