Arrow hey guys need help (driveshaft)??????????

I'm trying to swap engines and i have the engine in and it is ready to start and drive put when i was put the engine in i could not hook the driveshaft back in the tranny when remounting it. so i thought when i'm done with the engine i will just take off the driveshaft and then put it into the tranny. But now i can not get the driveshaft out from the differential. i have all the four bolts that are bolting it on but can not detach it from the differential. can someone please help me out quick i need the car to be drivable its my daily driver.thanks a ton guys

well.. if all 4 bolts are out, give it a good smack with a hammer, it should come right off.

does it just slide off? one weird thing is that it spins freely, but it will not come off.

BFH man.. there is nothing restricting it..
unless some gunk has made a seal between the flange and the diff yoke.

There is a small circular flange that press-fits them together, so it could spin, but you have to break that press fit with a hammer. Rubber mallet is best, but you could use a sledge if you're careful about only hitting the thichest part of the yoke ears.

haha, thats exactly how i put my motor in my car, and the tranny on the motor, and the suspension on, and the exhaust. man nothings worse than stuff not going on right, or off right. when i installed my motor it didnt want to go, so i basically dead lifted the motor off of the engine hoist and started frantically jerk the thing around. it was great, such a stress reliever.
