I did make it and have been considering selling them. I had a feeling that was what most people would notice first. I was thinking about buying the alluminum and cutting it out and marking the lines of where to fold it. It is all one piece. I could even just use some cardboard and make templates and sell them for cheap. I still have the original template. I used a sheet of alluminum ($7) a hose fitting from lowes for the scoop ($3) a 3 foot piece of hose from lowes ($3) and one package of black door stripping to dress up the edges ($3) one lil screw to hold the lid down ($0.50) and a piece of wire to pull it forward to give the filter a lil extra clearance ($0.10). So all in all it cost me a total of $16.60. It dresses up the bay a lil too.

The thing in the lower front bumper, round hicky is the scoop for the air box. The deer whistle is attached to the support between the headlights. It's the "Hornet Electronic Deer Avoidence System". It has a 12v source and can scare away deer while the car sits still. I have a switch to turn it off and on due to its kinda anoying sound.

Notice how its home has a nice cooler in it along with a couch and table for tools. I also taped on some padding so the doors don't bang into the polls (smart huh?).
The inlet tube for the airbox runs just inside the radiator and up into the bottom of the box. The scoop piece in front is secured with one screw coming down from the plastic above it.
Scanning the template would not be very accurate since I only have access to a 14x20 scanner and piecing it together never works out so well. I can maybe just draw up some dimensions without the detailed curves and let you guys cut them out yourself. Since I had moved some wires and crap to make it fit right, my copy may differ from others. If you have hood pins, your box can be even nicer since I had to leave room for that damn rod to lay down.
The fan is a death trap, but frees up alot of room. It used to be on a thermo switch untill one hot day I was under the hood and it just came on because of the outside temp. Now it runs off a relay that just turns it off and on with the car.

Very impressive, so nice to see someone who values suspension and chassis stiffening as much as engine performance and stuff.
Where'd you get that Cusco lower A arm bar? Did it make a big difference?

I got the lower a-arm bar from RX7.com for like $110. I couldn't really notice a difference but the reason I got it was to remove the extra front brace added to verts that weights roughly 50 pounds. So I replaced that part with the 2 pound bar. There was no loss in stiffness so the weight loss was all for good. On a coupe I would think it would make a noticable enough difference to spend a $110; christ that's a case of beer and dinner for two.

I would guess it's down to about what a stock coupe weighs. I'm gonna have it weighed as soon as I can find a place that will do it.
