Unhappy Another RX-7 bites the dust...

Get this... my old 88 GXL was hit by a semi-truck today while I was on my way home from work. I was sitting on 75 North in a traffic jam when I saw a semi-truck come in my rear view mirror. I heard him hit his brakes and start swerving, the next thing I remember is me getting out of my car and seeing the rear end all smashed in. The trucker hit another semi as well in trying to get out of my way. I'm ok, but I damn near had a nervous breakdown when I got home. The whole right-rear corner of the car is smashed in. I'm ok, but this really sucks. I just remember getting getting out of the car and being in a daze. Tomorrow I'm getting the insurance company to take a look at it and go to the hospital if my neck starts acting up (it hurt a little after the accident). This was my first accident and I'm ******* glad it wasn't my fault...too bad the golden beast is dead.

With the insurance money I'm going to prolly buy a 626 or MX-6 GT with the turbo to use as a daily driver.

Yeah, that's what I told the trucker that hit me. I said something about how if he hit me in my TII, I'd prolly have to kick his *** as opposed to yelling a whole batch of expletives on the side of the highway.

You should have complained about your neck at the accident scene and then ride in the ambulance to a hospital. Neck problems can come up years from now and be traced back to an accident you thought you were not hurt at. If your neck does start hurting make sure you contact the truck company immediately and they might be glad to take care of any bills that come up and possible give you some more on the side. Its there way af avoiding a million dollar law suit. I know someone that developed problems from a minor accident and ended up with $250,000 plus all related medical bills taken care of.

Glad your ok. Trucking co's do have loads of cash. Guy I had the "fortune" of meeting (great guy, went to strip clubs every night and brought home half the strippers) was driving down the road when his bronco went underneath a semi parked IN the road with it's lights off. Granted he should have seen the truck, but he sued the trucking co for a lil more than 13 million dollars. He got it. Of course half his bronco went under it, and he got pretty tore up. But the moral of the story is, sue the co. They have insurance, so it's not like your killin the company.

That's a cheap way of making money. Do people have any moral in the US? I guess not, thats why Joe Bornstein runs commerical from NH to CT.

Right now i have a law suit up my *** because my former friend "Claimed" he was hurt badly when I got into a fender bender 4 years ago. Trial is set for June. I really have no respect for people who try to get money after an accident, especially when the person is unhurt

Yeah, but who's gonna be the first one to stand up and pay (perhaps a LOT of money) for everyone else's lack of moral fiber?

Took it to the body shop a few hours ago and they say that it looks pretty bad. I'm expecting it to be totalled, which isn't the happiest of all situations, but it might work out to my advantage. The GXL wasn't all that healthy to begin with and my TII needs an engine. If I were to sell the GXL yesterday morning, I'd only ask $1500 as it had quite a bit of work that needed to be done to it.

If anything I'm going to buy it back from the insurance company and part it out. I'll take pre-orders via E-mail ONLY. There is a complete red interior (seats and long defroster vents are toast) and of course the right rear side is FUBAR'd. Email offers and wants to blazeredfc3s@aol.com
