help wont shift

so i took the fc out for a drive, and while i was on the way back the clutch depressed damn near all the way down and i was barely able to get it in gear. i had to kick the pedal towards me to get it raised up again. and on top of that my shifter did not want to get in gear. i tried to slap it in any gear, but it just fought me for a while, until i turned the car off and waited awhile the clutch as well as the shifter went back to normal. thoughts?

You posted this in the non-tech section too. It's the hydraulics. Replace the master and slave cylinders.

I would guess the slave, but it could be the hose or the master as well.

Check the level of your fluid, fill up the resevoir and pump the clutch peddle. You should be able to find the leak then. I would recommend replacing all three parts (master, slave, and hose) as they can be found for around $120 total new.

it is the master if the pedal is stuck to the floor most likely....common on these cars after a while.

It's not these cars, it's common with any twenty year old car.

^ +1

I just had to replace the slave in my F150 and it's a 1993 model. Main difference is that the slave is in the transmission housing. Talk about a PIA.

The Rx7 is much easier, as the slave is on top of the transmission.
