Help...wheres this wire go

86 N/A stock all normal parts hooked up under hood.
Off of wiring harness top of engine behind/beside alternator.

Dark Green wire/black stripe with a black connector. Wire comes about 6 inches out of harness single wire not with others. Black connector looks like it slides onto something sort of like rear firewal grounding wire. Connector is rectangle black.

What does this wire go to?

Thanks

Terry.

it's in front of the radiator that pushes air through, it's on the passenger side i think...

Cause he has an 86 base.... He MIGHT have the fan, but I doubt it.

The wire he's asking about is the stock auxiliary electric fan's temp switch. The fan was optional, and if it wasn't installed then neither was the temp switch.

There's no proof that the Fiero fan performs any better than the stock thermoclutch fan, so that's no reason to remove the stock e-fan. It's there to improve the A/C's performance at low speed and to kick in if the temp gets too high (~200degF), hence the temp switch. If it's there and it works, just leave it.

well, i have my current fiero fan wired in with a temp switch, and up until recently it worked great. the damn relay on the module came unglued and won't make contact unless i push on it. i think some glue dribbled into the contacts.
