Exclamation Help! What Hose Is This? Need Help Fast!! **Pics**

Hey Guys,

Could you guys please identify this hose and tell me where it leads to. Also does coolant flow through it and with a big enough crack will it cause my car to get hot fast, my car has been losing coolant and the guy that checked it out said it had a huge crack towards the base of it and I was losing alot of coolant through it. I have a racing event on saturday and I want this replaced before that. Thanks alot

Yes, coolant flows from the rear housing to the throttle body through that hose. Might need to pull the intake assy off to change it, unless you've got REALLY small hands...Mazdatrix has 'em, if you're looking for a new one...

Or you could man up and do the throttle body mod and ditch that

Use pliers and grab and twist. Also try using a small flathead and use it to pry it off. I thought it was easier to take it off the TB first and then stick an old spark plug in the hose to stop the coolant from going everywhere so you dont have to drain your coolant if you havent already.

Yeh, this one's the "bitch" among the hoses. If you've got a new one, just cut the old one at the nipples with a razor blade, lengthwise from the end (gently) to free the hose end up from 16 years of gunk...
