Help/Tips for Temp Sender install on water pump Housing
Here's the plan, have an aftermarket VDO water temp electric sender. I took out the aux cooling fan switch on the '90 motor and measured the size of the threads--it's a 16mm x 1.50 pitch. The thermostat housing could be tapped for a 1/4NPT-18, which is one of the adapters I have with the VDO kit.
So I'd tapping a hole in the thermostat housing where the stock aux fan switch would go, because my car doesn't have a stock aux fan.
Is this hole the same for the S4 and S5 motors? Any tips on tapping it?
Does this sound good?

Didn't try that on mine, I went with using one of the unused airpump bolt locations, drilled and tapped that out, and installed the 1/8NPT sender in there.. Works like a champ
I suppose your way would work ok too.
