pull the plugs out and see if they are wet. good place to start. if you don't know by now 7's are a living thing and some times small things like a dead bat will make them mad and other problems will pop up . check engine light on? crancks? trys to fire at all?

best you can do with out pulling the spark plugs is to pull out the egi fuze thats under the hood and crack it a few times, but this can be hit or miss depending on how flooded it is.

With an S5 the first deflood step is to hold the pedal to the floor and try cranking it. on S5s full throttle with the engine not running cuts fuel.

After that, you have to pull the plugs.

Pull your 2 bottom plugs.. or you can leave the top plugs out.. Pull the EGI fuse out.. and crank the engine over. If its flooded you will see a bunch of gas vapor come up from the open hood.. Crank in 10 second intervals till you see no more vapor.. Then put the plugs back in.. and start the car..

i just took all the plugs out and dried them off..then put them back in and it didnt work. but i guess that was pointless because they just got wet again. i also tried starting it with the pedal to the floor..its an s5 so isnt that the same as pullin the egi fuse

No. If you crank for extended periods of time you can burn out the starter..

When the plugs were out did you crank the car over to push the gas out? If not, do that..

And yes its fine to push start a flooded car.. that should also do the trick to start it if its flooded..

so i pulled out all 4 plugs..pulled the egi fuse..cranked it for about 15 seconds..maybe 20 total. i then bought new plugs and installed them..tried to start the car and nothing. i only cranked it for about 5 seconds as i didnt want to flood it again.. should i put some oil in the housings at this point or just push start it.

do you think its still not starting because all the oil was washed away in the housing?

It may have lousy compression for that reason.. so putting a little bit of oil (not a whole lot though, just enough for a thin coting on the housings), and then turning it over without the EGI fuse for a few seconds and then trying to start it might do the trick.

Heres what you do. Pull all 4 plugs and the EGI fuse. Stick your finger in the wire and crank it to make sure it gets spark. If its getting spark, your good there. Crank it some more to get all the old gas out of the compression chamber. Take all 4 spark plugs, soak the metal tip of them in carb or throttle body cleaner and light them on fire. It'll clean the plugs and heat them up, making them spark better. Put them back in, pump the gas once or twice and crank. If the car doesn't start this way, you need to start looking at some other stuff having issues...

Stick your finger in the wire and crank it to make sure it gets spark.
A better way, that doesn't involve shocking you, is to take a spark plug out, hook it back up to it's wire, lay it on the manifold or TB (making sure that the metal of the plug is touching the metal of the TB/IM) and crank the engine over. Look for spark on the plug. If you see it, great. If not you may have some other problems that need looking at.

pump the gas once or twice and crank
Wouldn't recommend pumping the gas. Good way to flood it out as the start MAP is already going to spray a ton of fuel into the engine.

Take all 4 spark plugs, soak the metal tip of them in carb or throttle body cleaner and light them on fire. It'll clean the plugs and heat them up, making them spark better. Put them back in,
That is a good idea and has helped me out a few times. Just make sure the engine is properly deflooded before you stick em back in.

This topic has been covered a good many times. I'd suggest using the search button.

Just out of curiosity, where do you keep trying to put oil when you start it? You shouldn't be putting oil in the spark plugs holes EVERY time you try to start it, thats just a 1 time thing to help the motor build compression.

If you keep dumping a tablespoon or more into each of the plug holes, thats the reason your not getting any spark. The second you try to crank it, the oil is fouling the plugs...
