HELP !!!! Problem with Microtech on '89 on Turbo II
I have my car sitting 300k from home waiting to have a Microtech MT 8 fitted. The guy doing this work - Pip Gardner from WGT Autos here in the U.K. has hit a problem in that the 1989 Turbo II operates the oil injection from the OEM ECU. There doesn't seem to be any provision on the Microtech to drive the oil injection.
Has anyone else fitted this ECU to a 1989 0n car (from what I know, the answer to this has to be yes) and, if so, how have they overcome this ?
Many thanks in advance for any help that you can give.
Peter

You could simply remove the 89 Electronic metering oil pump and oil injection and run premix instead, should be able to get block off plates from K2RD I believe. This is one option you can try.

Or you can buy this
http://www.rotaryaviation.com/oil_in...p_adaptors.htm
it will convert it to a RPM based pump.. you will also need a tank to hold 2 cycle oil.. and check it regularly..

Note that the above requires changing front covers, as well as rigging up the linkage (or getting a series 4 TB, but that only has the single sensor TPS...) that the mechanical pump used.

No problem
If you want to run synthetic this is a way to do it without worry too.. (same with premix)
Premix is probably safest. But as long as you have a good OMP this should be safe. I would recomend makeing sure your omp is good though. i recently lost an engine because my OMP got plugged
