Exclamation help pleeezz

im a new owner of a rx-7 and was wondering what site is good to order a cold air intake for my car.

theres a air intake leak in the inside of my engine somewhere and it will cost way to much to repair it so i was wondering if you can install the cold air intake and it wouldnt make the air intake even worse. because i have problems starting up my car with the air intake leak.

i also was wondering if i should either upgrade my stock turbo to a stage 3 or just replace the turbo with a new one. give suggestions please

I dont know of any actual cold air kits for the FC TII. You just have to make one. And if you are going to replace your turbo, and you go stage 3, you will need the fuel mods to support that.

It will be much better, and much cheaper in the long run, to mod a properly working car. Get your vacuum leak fixed first, then think about modding.

well if you have air leaks it might be that you have vacumm leaks , check the nipples behind the upper intake manifold . i had the same problem starting my car then having it idle properly. i went to the auto parts purchased new vaccum caps replacements because the old ones were worn to the point of having huge cracks that let air in the engine. i replaced them an presto the car started right up and maintains a much better idle. its the best $1.86 ive spent . you may also want to replace your vaccum lines in the near future with silicone . our cars feel funny with the slightest vacumm leak . so take your flash light and look for those nipple caps behind the manifold and replace them . keep us posted

well heres some pictures of the manifold i dont no where the nipples are where you said. what do they look like and i think when i went to get a check up on the car they said that they would have to disassemple the top of my engine like the intercooler and other stuff thats why it cost so much.

If your smelling exhaust it's either most likely comming from a leak in your exhaust somewhere. If your car is not starting when at normal opperating temp or takes a while for it to start you probally have low compression. check this it might help.

compression help

put your hand between the intake manifold and the firewall then grab a flash light and look back there. these are just a few of the MANY vaccumm hoses we have on our cars . some that have caps (lines not bieng used) crack from heat and start to let air in. replace these caps or the hoses that are on those lines if you can . what ever you can reach try and replace . the lines under the manifold are many more and require complete dissasemmbly of upper intake. replcing ALL your vaccumm lines with silicone is a important mod thats should have MORE priority than upgrading a turbo. what good is a turbo if your car doesnt run right. ALSO i wanted to add to your starting problem . adding colder temperature plugs work great . maybe try a b9ev . i use b10evg and have no trouble . cold plugs help in restarting your car when it is at operating temperature. i think i saw a thread on it last night also . look it up

Uhh, no.. The first thing I would look at is flooding due to leaky injectors.

overheating

its actually funny you say overheating because when i tapped my boost controller
and boost guage to a vacumm line bieng used by something else i caused the engine to run very hot in very short time producing that water bubbling sound . i dont know why , maybe sensor sharing vacumm wasnt working properly. anyway as soon as i decided to disconnect bc and bg the engine now runs normal . but your troubles will probably be something else like thermostat or water pump pulley, radiator needs cleaning or hoses are caving in. it could be allot of different things .

Your car doesn't have heads, cylinders, pistons, valves, camshafts, and so on... so you don't have a head gasket to be leaking. Ditto for timing belt.
