Help!!!! No more 4 k rpm`s
hello friends, lately my rx-7, when driven, I accelerate to 3900 to 4000 rpms, it starts to stop accelerating, the car remains without power, and difficult to get to 5000 rpms. What is the problem that will have the RX-7?
Thanks

no power above 4000rpm: secondairy injectors not firing...? maybe missing spark at high rpm...?
the starting problem is a completely different problem so dont hack this thread!

One thing to look at are the ECU grounds. Next thing to look at would be the "boost sensor." Pull the hose off the boost sensor with the car running and place your finger over the end of the hose to check for vacuum which should be present. Then cap off the end of the vacuum hose and remove the connector of the TPS and try to get the car over the 4000 rpm hurdle.

I have this hesitation whenever I accelerate right around 3500-4000 RPM
The dreaded 3800 RPM hesitation is cause 90% of the time by poor ground connections between the engine, the battery, and the car. Clean or replace all the under hood ground connections. On 86 model year cars , replacing/regrounding the pressure sensor's ground wire has helped (do not re-ground a 87 or later model year). If there is still a problem after that, look at cleaning the fuel injectors and (on a N/A) that your 5th/6th ports are operating correctly.
