Help! In need of a new engine, maybe?

Hi guys,

So a few days ago, my engine started to overheat, but there was no visible signs to any leaks. I let the car rest a few days, and drive again, and after a few minutes, the temperature shoots up again. I noticed that the radiator overflow tank was full and overflowing.

I took it to a local shop and they looked at it, and found exhaust gas bubbling out of radiator fluid, which was adding temperature and pressure where the coolant could not do its job.

I wanted to see what you guys thought of it, and typically, how much $$$ am I looking at, to fix something like this (given the mileage ~140K), where the fix ultimately means a new engine block...

Thanks!

That was what the guys said too, but in order to fix that, and given the age/mileage of the engine, their recommendation was to rebuild the engine, but I'm not sure if that's really the best way to go...

You need a rebuild and 0-3 irons depending if the water jacket broke away and also possibly 2 housings depending on the condition of yours. You wont know what you need till you crack the engine open.

Sorry bro time to clear the calendar annd drain the fluids. I think you need to start a rebuild, but now you can think about getting a turbo on there

thanks guys! Hmm. Time for a re-build... I got an early estimate of complete engine rebuild including all new blocks and etc for 4500... though they are known for being on a high-end but reliable... what do you guys think?

(Sorry, won't be able to do this on my own... don't have the space/time/resources available yet, but eventually, this would be fun project...)

Thanks!

The cheapest quality rebuild would be shipping your engine to http://rotaryresurrection.com/2ndgen/index.html
