i am trying to take the door trimming and stuff of while the door is closed but i cant seem to do it! what do i do? is there a way i can slim jim the car?

pull the weatherstripping and push the metal arm to unlock the door

 

alright, can i have pictures? i have never done this without seeing it

 

If you can't open the door from either the inside or outside handle, it's most likely a spring on the door latch.
Royal PITA to remove and reinstall...

okay, i got it. it wasnt either actually. instead the inner working were really freezing up but nothing was lubricated so i would unlock it and it wouldnt completely unlock to i couldnt open from the inside. the outside handle broke so i had to to the ghetto fix
