why not research before jumping into a V6 just because you heard a rotary is hard to work on? i've owned numerous V6's and i would work on a rotary anyday over any of them. but if you do go back to pistons at least make it a V8, a V6 wouldn't be worth the effort

Well, If you think a rebuild/install of a new engine is hard then don't even attempt a piston engine install.

Check out www.rotaryresurrection.com Kevin has the best prices around for rebuilding engines.

Rotaries aren't hard to fix really.

As long as you do oil changes and make sure it doesn't over heat you shoudl be fine.

They can't because they are piston mechanics.

They will probably tell you your head gasket is blown and that you need to tighten your valves down(None of those are in our cars)

Also do not take it to the dealership unless you like to have the car sit thre for a few months while they charge you for doing nothing.

Where are you? You just say USA. There are a couple Rotary tuners in the states.

As far as engine swaps, yes there is some help. Find granny swap shop on your search engine. I'm dropping a V-8 351C in one of my 5 7's. I love the rotories but am frustrated at the lack of parts at local parts houses. Mechanis don't often know about rotories and the dealer is outrageous,(i know, i used to work for one). If you don't know much about rotories or engines in general you might find a shop that can do the mod for you. Basic engine swap kit is 150-up to 500. It should fit under the hood. What are your reasons for possibly wanting a v-6?

Illiteracy is one of the worst things plauging this country. I hope you sell the car and let someone who will keep it as it was before you bought it have it. DONT BUY a car without researching it first. Know what you are getting into before you buy... Uhgggg

rotories are more simple engines than piston engines. less moving parts and you dont have to worry about timing and other junk. they are actually easier to fix that piston engines.

hope it's a RWD and you have the trans and diff to go with it, as well as access to a machine shop to make the parts you'll need. stick with a rotary and learn about it, they can be easily made to whip up on most V6's.
