I have a feeling Paul blew her for you. Or he did what he did the to the T2 which was a sin against humanity.

Either way Dan an I will be in the area around Thanksgiving...

Also, I think when we sold the 91, he got the race pipe with it or one's been put on it.

Hey, well actually i got the car to start.... but it just wouldn't idle.... well paul came to have told me the other day that where he has a test pipe, there is an exhaust leak, and and on the manifold it's leaking, and on top of that, i sat there and drove the car to a friends house maybe a mile away from me, i replaced all that **** i said i replaced, and my friend unscrewed each 4 strut bolts with his fingers, so if i would have been goin fast it would have been **** for me.... Paul is the dumbest person i have ever known to work with on an rx7........ i already had the engine stripped, and i put it back together myself.... i have learned alot more by doing this myself.. my next step is a header, and a new tranny... i replaced the slave cylinder and it didn't help the car at all..... but don't worry b/c i'll be taking better care of it then what paul did. and at the beginning of 06, i found a right hand drive turbo 2 front clip, i may buy, or i may just buy a turbo 2 motor!!!!!!!!!!

Actually theres enough pressure against those bolts that it wouldnt have been the end of the world. Leaks in general in that car are gonna cause nasty idle problems.

To be quite honest, that car needed a clutch when we sold it. The way Paul drives, even if he put a clutch in it it probably needs replaced.

When you say stripped please tell me you didn't take the motor apart. Also, if you're gonna put a header on that car you had better put different mufflers on it or the state police are gonna stop you at every turn as are the Wheeling Cops.. Ask me how I know..

You think the cars loud now you have no idea. Exhaust gaskets for that car really should come from Mazda which I will nearly guarantee you he didnt get them from. All the advance/autozone ones we've blown out of that car 100s of times.

You also realize that before Paul painted that car it was one of the rarest 7s due to its option package? More rare than the 10ths? I dont think I'd put the nose on it, but whatever, your car.

I also cant promise Dan would be willing to look at it for you as he was super attached to that car and still regrets selling it.

We didnt do a fuel filter on that car, but probably neither did Paul. Its on the drivers side on or near the fire wall as I recall. Advance should stock them. You MAY end up having to replace the soft hose going to the metal line, atleast we did on the T2. Get some new clamps while you're at it. Its an easy job once the car is up in the air.

Thumbs up

well i didn't mean i took the complete engine apart i had to take the pulleys off, i had to take the belts off, the fan and all that, but don't worry it's all back together....i know to get new mufflers b/c i do realize how loud my car will be but i don't care... let em pull me over, i'm painting the car and all that and will prob. not drive it too much for the winter........ i still have my s4, but i have no spark at all , and it wont crank over..... i'm gonna replace the fuel filter and see how that goes, and i never knew that car was a very rare rx7.... dumbass paul.. he ruined the sunroof motor, so i'm gonna take the one out of the s4, even though that ones slow, but it will work, trust me i'm gonna have this car for a very long time, and take good care of it.... u may doubt me on taking everything off that engine, but since u guys have left, i read and memorized the whole haynes manual..... and i'm prob. just gonna get the turbo 2 motor, instead of a front clip.... and i have a new clutch for it, and i have a transmission on the way.. i have alot of spare parts for the car also

the sunroof motor never worked on that car, it was that way when we got it. We didn't want to do the job cuz it looked like a pain.. but we did it on the t2 and its not so bad so long as you can get the roof open (which we couldnt)

As far as takin stuff apart, yeah it helps you to learn about stuff thats how we learned a bunch about the 7s... Mostly because noone in that area works on 7s.

BTW you have to go to Washington now to get Mazda parts incase you didnt know.

You should be able to take the coils from the 7 and have them tested at Advance for you. Problem is if that's the problem its not gonna be cheap..

The good part about the tranny/clutch is that its a pretty straight forward job so long as you pay attention. Dan an I did one in the winter in the red 7 in his driveway. The tranny is fairly light so long as you drain the fluid first.. Getting the exhaust off is the hardest part (least it has been the last two times we did a clutch. We're doing a rebuild and clutch in the spring on the t2 since it didnt pick up any compression...

Keep us updated on whats goin on with snow..
