Post pictures, as detailed as you can get.

What you're looking for is cross scoring and lots of flaking. A little flaking on the edges is normal and should be okay. A lot is bad.

Cross scoring is what it sounds like, scaring that goes against the grain. Also, too much scaring in any direction is bad.
