help me out guys....

ok guys here we go.
my car smokes like crazy when i start it up, when its cold.
i know i saw other links and read them all. i was told it could be my oil metering pump so tomorrow im gunna go to the junkyard and get one out of a car. or could u tell me what else it could be that makes my car smoke like that.
if i understand right the oil metering pump has a vavle that opens up to let oil into the chambers . and my chamber isent closing all the way. so when i turn my car off it causes oil to seep into the chamber....right?
also i have perfect compression.
i was just wondering what u guys would think if it is or not is my oil metering pump?
plz dont put this link off

If the smoke is white it could be your that your coolant seals are gone, letting coolant into the combustion chamber. What year is your car? If it's a S4 then it's probably not your OMP and actually if it's a S5 it's probably not your OMP either cause when those fail they don't allow any oil into the motor.

Forgot to add this but, your OMP uses 4 injectors (kind of like fuel injectors) to get oil into your housings. Oil can't just flow in there, it's got to be pumped and "injected".

Then your OMP is electrical and if it does fail then no lubricating oil will get into your housings. I don't think the OMP is your problem....are you losing coolant?

Could be your oil control rings.

How often do you add oil?

somebody beat me to the punch...

I had the same thing happen to a 90 GXL that I had. Compression was fine, and it only had like 120k on it, but it smoked blue a lot. I didn't drive it a lot, so it didn't really seem worth it to me to replace the rings, which, of course, require a complete teardown and rebuild.
