ANYONE with a BOSE sytem read this
Guys....
I pulled the bose deck out of my car,
i have a problem.... On most cars, there is a single male adapter that plugs into the back of the head unit, where the female adapter is...
On this bose units, there are two female adapters left over once you disconnect the tape deck from them.... I ended up buying a new adapter, cutting some wire and using ONE of the female things to power my cd player....(since there is only one plug in the back of cd players)
it powers fine, antenna works and can get radio stations, but i get no sound to the speakers!!!!
whats the deal, what do I do with this other connection that is just sitting here, I have a feeling this controls the amplifier or somthing

I don't really know that much about the bose systems, but they way the bose are set up is that each speaker has it's own amp set up to it. Thats why the bose system is a little differant then the regular ones. I don't know if that helps ya any though.

I am trying to remeber what wires I had to use on the 300 zx I had bc it had a bose system in that and I ended up runing in to the same problem. It maybe that wiring that goes with it too sorry I can't really think of what it was I had to do for it.

I'm going off of what I know about my non-bose '95 R1 and the wiring diagram I have on the bose system from the shop manual.
There's a radio relay in the front of the car. When the head unit is on, the head unit provides power (I assume 12v) to the coil through a Light Green w/Blue stripe wire.
When active, the relay provides +12v to the amps through a Black w/Red stripe wire. For reference, the Black w/Orange is the ground for the amps.

Why didn't you just buy the wiring harness adapter from Scosche for like $15? It would have made your install painless.
There is a stickie in the Audio forum regarding Bose upgrade issues....
