Help me: Car won't rev over 5000 RPM

Unhappy Help me: Car won't rev over 5000 RPM

I have a 87 N/A when i get over 4000 rpms it feels almost like the clutch is slipping but with the gas to the floor in secon gear it wont go ove about 5500 rpms and has very little aceleration after 4000 rpms!!!!! whats wrong with my BABY????

could he a million things... you need more details

could be bad clutch
could be stuck aux ports
could be bad TPS
could be bad 2ndary injectors
could be bad timing
could be bad cats
could be bad AFM
could be leaking intake
could be bad fuel filter
could be bad adjustment on the throttle cable...

and countless other things.

So you need more details or you need to down load one of the shop manuals and start checking each and every one of those things

no check engine light, also it will cherp in first gear and get a good start but just doesnt want to accellerate after about 4000 RPM's.

Sounds like what i had. Does it backfire at all? Mine had a major power loss and when cruising on the freeway it would backfire at about 3800rmp. This was due to a bit of timing out and the fact that my T Coil was stuffed and not working. There where also a couple other minor problems but they were to do with minor adjustment for fine tuning.

Im gonna do a complete tune up and see about adjusting the timing and see if that works. this is proly a stupid question and i get lost on this stuff whats the "T coil"???

How many miles does your engine have on it, and what are your car specs. "T" coil is trailing coil.

full tune up what should i replace other then the normal spark plugs wires oil/ filter, fuel filter, air filter?????

Also, you might have clogged catalytic converters,could be time for a new exhaust

Also, try using a more descriptive subject line. "help me please" gets buried pretty quickly, but "Help me: Car won't rev over 5000 RPM" is much better.

ok i was wrong went and drove it again! it starts and idles fine but wont rev past 7000 RMP's and takes a while to get there, when driving it has no power what so ever its really struggling to get up to any kind of speeds. the engine sounds normal and strong but just doesnt want to go.
possablitys iv heard:
secondary injectors
clogged cat's
fuel pump/filter
I need to know other possablitys or a defiate on whats wong and how to possably check things that could be wrong with out replacing them. im tight on money i have about 300 buc's MAX to fix my problem if possable.
