Help Idle Bouncing !!!!

My 91 N/A Fc is idling high... the needle is bouncing from about 1200 rpm-1600rpm. it drives fine but the idle is very bad. All this started after the car sat for about 6 months and the transmission was replaced.

You might have a vacum leak. Lots of critters like to nestin engine compartments and think chewed rubber from vacum lines and wires make for good nests.

I would specifically look at your vacum for the EGR valve.

There is a search button top right corner, use it. I'm sure you will find what you are looking for.

revn re,

Did you ever get this fixed? Mine is doing the same thing right now. I think tomorrow I'm going to check the fast idle screw and the thermowax actuator. I also thought it might be a problem with the accelerated warm up system. I will test these all soon, but if you have any solid answers I figured I would save myself the trouble.

i have not fixed it... i tried to calibrate the tps... but i only managed to get it to about 1.04k ohms. im not sure if the tps is broken or not. I will meet with some fellow RX guys and try to take care of this. i have to smog my car before April 8. Here in CA my car has to be running well otherwise it wont pass. Let me know if you find anything thanks
