Of course it'd run the same, I'm assuming you mean at idle. The only injectors firing at idle are the primary ones, the secondaries dont kick on until like 3800 or something.

Have you checked compression yet? And the fuel pump won't run if the cars not running (since it has the switch in the AFM that tell is not to!)

Try resetting the ecu, just unplug the battery and press the brake for a minute or so.

remove the battery, charge it up fully and plug it back in, be sure to clean the terminals while its out and double check that all the fuses are ok.

check fuel pressure.

pull the spark plugs and visually inspect them, replace them if they're old.

Altinator(sp) plus bad battry. When the car is running remove one of the battry cables. If the car dies the altinator is junk. . A bad altnator will make a car run like ****. When mine went i though i blew the thing up.

here we go again...

it's something simple, you just haven't checked enough **** out.. is all that time and effort worth tossing rather than spending some trying to fix it?

i'm beginning to think this is an emo forum.

youre going to regret it felix if you give it up. sure you could go out and buy a Grand Marquis or soemthing, cruise around town, and itd run great, but jsut think, the day you actually get this car running well, youre going to be happier than a kid in a candy store.

we've said it over and over and over again, dont get discouraged. nothings that complicated. youll figure it out, and then youll be glad you did afterward, and you'll have added even more to your arsenal of rx7-ness

Dont take this the wrong way, nothing personal, but I wish you would sell it. I'm tired of seeing this same **** go on every 2 months. You do something on your car, post about it, and people swing from your nuts for 1 month as if you just launched the space shuttle, as if you did something that nobody has ever done on one of these cars before.

Then, a while later, something goes wrong with the car. You post here wanting someone to give you an answer to your problem, when we're not even standing in front of it. Then you whine around, get pissed off, and threaten to sell/part out the car.

Then the nutswingers get word of it, come into the thread and talk you out of it, you finally break down and fix the problem, and the cycle repeats itself.

I don't know, I think it's probably a good idea. He's spent so much time and money on this thing, and it seems like weekly he has a new problem, I don't mean to sound like an ***, but I really don't think he's got the experience/etc to deal with a 'project' FC, I'd say sell it and buy a good condition rebuilt/running one and start learning from there rather than diving head first.

IMO, the best way to get someone to learn is to give them a running car and a pair of tools. Then let them **** it up, take it apart, put it back together, **** that up, take it apart, figure out they rushed through something, put it back together, and learn from it.

You learn the effects of porting from building lots of different combinations... you can't effectively learn how a single port change will affect an engine by watching someone else do it.
Example: how many different ports have you gone through, even with your extensive research from other people's ports?

Learning is not about memorizing what someone else told you, then you don't know why something occurs. Learning is about figuring out the why for yourself.

Well, sadly kevin was pretty much 100% right, Felix tends to run into a problem, try to fix it, then he gets mad/frustrated/etc, especially when people tell him he was going about fixing it the wrong way (sorry, but it's true), then he gets even more pissed, and I'm sure his parents rag on him for always working on it and saying it's a money pit, so he throws it up for sale, then calms down and decides otherwise and fixes it later.

It is, I did/do that sometimes too.

Dustin, try making a ground strap from your leading coil to your (-) terminal on your battery, and another from your trailing coil to your engine. That may help out a lot.
