help hooking up motor to engine hoist

Tomorrow morning I am putting my new motor in. Problem is... there is only one hook on the motor. It is the back one, it is missing the one by the alternator. What can I hook the chain onto the front?

Well it's morning now, thanks for all your help, I guess I'll rig something up. You know with this many members, you think someone would be kind enough to answer.

One side of the chain goes to one tranny bolt (the side facing the engine, not the tranny, and the other to one AC\PS bolt

You'd think if someone thought he were smart enough to perform an engine swap, finding a spot to attatch the chain would not be an issue. I seriously question your abilities to complete an engine swap properly if you cant even chain up the engine without help.

The japanese are pretty good engineers and almost always provide easily accessible hoist hooks on their engines. Many or most domestic engines are not this way. IT is not unusual to have to "find" or "make" a spot for your chain on an engine. THis usually consists of a decent size bolt threaded into a spare hole somewhere, or removal of a long bolt somewhere that the chain will fit inside, then reinsert the bolt in it's original hole.

I don't normally reply to a question unless I think I have a good answer.

I used the actual alternator adjuster bracket and looped a link of the chain through that, worked OK for me.

Hmm I was actually pondering this as well. I forgot how my Jspec came apart.

I am probably going to thread a bolt in the back end and use the IC/UIM Bracket to hook it up.
(I'm use to NA's so I don't know the TII's as well)

Oh BTW Kevin. One of the drivers side engine mount bolts was missing. You probably have one floating around your works floor now. I stopped by a local Ace hardware and got a bolt today for it. Hopefull it threads in without problem.
