Help Flooded!
I have my RX parked for the winter. I am starting it on a weekly basis, to prevent the seals shrinking on me.
I started twice now and haven't had a problem. Today, however, the thing was flooded horribly. I had to crank it forever, nearly kill the battery and then pull the truck over to help jump it to provide the juice necessary to start the beast. After she fired, raw gas poured out the exhaust. Then, she smoked a little while before quiting and returning to normal. I think she is pissed at me for driving the Grand Prix again.
Need some tips to help prevent it from flooding again. What may have caused it to just flood like that? Any check valves or something that may be stuck to try?
Thanks.

How lond do you let it run when you start it? The needle on your water temp gauge needs to be off of the C before you shut it down. If you do that I'm sure it will be better and never flood again.
IF it gets flooded again... pull your EGI fuse and crank it for a few seconds. Wait.... turn the motor again for a few more seconds. Then replace your fuse and turn the motor again. If it doesn't start then repeat this process until it does. It's kind of bothersome, especially if it is real flooded

Install the switch
Install a fuel cutoff switch so that all the fuel is burned in the motor and lines when you cutoff the car so it won't flood anymore. Just search fuel and switch and you should find some great instructions. peace.

I've noticed that whens it's really cold outside i have a problem starting mine. And i have a little switch thingy.
If you ever get it so flooded and you try removing the fuse, or you have put a switch in, and it still won't start and unflood. Put ATF in there. This is miracle stuff in a bottle. Leave it in there for like 15 min, give her a jump if need be, and then just start her up. Treat it like a normal ATF trick just don't wait as long. This always gets my car started when it's cold and horriblely flooded, which is often
