help help!!

Hi

Today morning, when i start the engine but it stop immedistely.If i press the gass when engine start ,it works good. when i release the gas , it stop immedistely.Can you guys help me to solve this problem ? My car is 1988 na rx7 .I am in the winnipeg ,manitoba.

There could be several reasons for this. The most common are large vacuum leaks or problems with the AFM or the connection to it.

Check your TPS also mine went bad and would not run with the AC on.

It could be that your air pump hose came off your air box itself. I had this problem one day when i removed my air box and forgot to place the air pump hose back on the air box. Once i did it ran fine.

my air pump hose is off because the previous owner put a cone filter on. i am going to try putting an air box on or re routing the air pump hose

mine does that, but if you keep your foot on it and self idle it at around 1,500 RPM for 5 minutes or so, it idles fine, mine just needs to warm up. Also if you drive for about 1 min without the 5 min warm up it can idle at it's firts or 2nd light. Mazda told me it's my bad compression, I'm just going to believe them because they have a rotary expert working there.
