Thats the variable resistor. It adjusts air/fuel ratio and sends a signal to control unit. It is set by the factory and covered in a wax like substance so that it cannot be tampered. And it should stay that way. The manual lists this item as tamper-proof

Adjusting it will slightly change the Air/Fuel ratio at idle. But rotorforce is right you really dont need to play with it unless you know what you are doing.

so its only for the mixture at idle? or all around? where is this on s4 or s5? I don't remeber seeing this on my s5 n/a
