1. Sounds like your logicon(thats what the control box is called) has some bad solder joints...One fix is to fix the joints(there is a write up here somewhere--search for it)...Also the switch could be bad in the logicon...ICEMARK sell them in his online store!http://www.mazdamark.com
2. This sounds like a vacuum leak!
3. I think you are talking about the airpump--it doesn't rev the engine up--it supplies air to help with emissions...If you don't have to worriy about emissions just take it off and block off the inlet to the ACV.If you have emission checks then pull another airpump off of another car in the junkyard or someone on the forumcould sell one to you(ie me)!

I have the same heater problem. Car sat a week, now the blower is not working. The relay clicks when i slide the fan speed over.
I unplugged the blower motor and tested with a multimeter. I got from 0.0V with the slider on OFF to 12V with the slider to full so voltage is getting there.

I plugged another blower motor in and voltage only goes to 0.2V on FULL... If i unplug the blower voltage jumps back to 12V.

I tested both blower motors on a battery and they work fine.

So far im stumped!

he means the 3000 RPM start up quit working. He was mistaken that some sort of blower caused it

I took it to mean the AWS... not sure why he thinks its a blower though... maybe he is hearing the fan kick in?

I fixed my heater problem. The blower motor was good. It was the thermal fuse located at the top of the blower fan assembly. You need to take the whole thing out and on top theres a metal heatsink. Take that apart and test the fuse inside.

this is a good link for FC heater problems
