Help.....
I got a 90 GXL. Since its my first 7 I'm not sure if what it is doing is normal. The engine seems to brake too much when I let off throttle and surges when I reapply it. Reading other posts it sounds to me to be the TPS. And when I rev it hard it occasionally hesitates around 6K. Also, sometimes when I drive it hard (past 7K rpm) and let it settle back down the idle is very erractic like it was going to stall and then picks back up. But if I rev it back up to say 7K rpm in neutral the idle is OK. Could the auxillary port be stuck open after driving it hard?

yes, i would first off do the TPS adjustment
a lot of times harshness when getting on or letting off the gas is due to the TPS being misadjusted
if you do not have a link to websites that explain the process just do a search
i recommend using 2 12v LEDs (i got from radioshack)
if that dosnt help out then there are other problems

Thats right it bounces up and down but this only happens when I drive it hard (full throttle past 6K rpm) then when I let the engine settle to an idle it is very erratic. Almost stalls and then it picks back up to say 800 rpm and keeps bouncing like that. When this happens I rev it to 7K or so in neutral and the problem is fixed (the idle is normal again). To me it seems like something gets stuck when I rev the engine high and then I "unstuck it" by reving it up again. I was thinkin maybe the auxillary port gets stuck open after a hard run.
