help
I can't get my 88 TII to start. Recently the alternator belt broke, so I replaced it, jumped the battery and it started up perfectly. Then I drove it home and turned it off. Now, about 5 hours later, I go out to start it and the battery is dead. So I hook it up to my friends civic to jump start it. The interior lights work, the dash light works, and the head lights work. Those are the only things working, the open door sound doesn't even work. I turn the key, nothing. Nothing in the engine bay makes a peep. The lights on the thing above the radio don't even come on. It acts like its not getting power to anything but the things I listed, like the battery was bad or something (which its not, its almost new). As you can imagine this is pretty frustrating, so if anyone can tell me whats going on I'd appreciate it.

Here's a suggestion that might sound stupid. But make absolutely sure that your battery connections at the terminal are really tight. If you can twist them around with your hand that's not a good enough connection and sometimes, it will cause the symptoms you're having.
Not to mention that if you indeed hand tightened them at one point when you got it new, it may only have been a matter of time before it built up resistence in that very small but meaningful gap. A gap that should have been taken up by tightening it down with a wrench. So if those connections are loose, even the jumper cables won't have much of an effect on loose terminal connections....
FWIW.

Well I checked things out today, apparently my main fuse blew. I'm trying to find the right size fuse now. I'm almost afraid to ask but, how in the hell did my main fuse blow?
