Question HElp

Is there any special thing I have to do to put on my starter? The reson why im saying this is because my car was runing just fine after the starter died. Then a few days later i got another one. Then I installed it on my 88 rx7 T2.And now it wont idle and I have a **** loud of white smog coming out my mufflers. can anyone help?!!!!!!

hmmmm ok I have no idea why changing your starter would cause smoking. Did you check your engine? could you have possible left some oil close to the exhaust and now it is burning up under there? you might have something wrong with your engine.

BTW bump

I thought TII's did not have headers? You might have a bad seal in your engine or something. Check that everything is working properly first. You might need to re-tune some stuff.

Check to see if you unplugged or messed anything up under there.

There isnt anything I can think of, aside from the ground on the starter, that could even REMOTELY affect the operation of your motor.... Looks like you have other problems.

Do the coolant seal check. Take off the water fill cap, and fill with water. Disable EGI fuse and crank car. See big geyser in engine bay? Time for a new motor.

i just found out that the coolent is leaking for the engine. How would i fix this problem? It looks like its coming out somwhere by the water pump.

That's not 'coolant leaking from the engine.'

You've got a leak coming from either the water pump's weep hole, or from the water pump's gasket.

Does the leak (a green or white trail down the front of the motor, I presume) start at a little hole under the water pump pulley? If yes, it's time to replace the water pump. Grab a rebuilt one from a parts store - they're relatively cheap and there's nothing wrong with them.

If it's coming from the gasket, grab a new one from a Mazda dealership. Dirt cheap.

And you're going to have to take the pulley off of the water pump before you can removel the water pump itself.

A leak is a leak. If you don't mind having a stain on your engine, and having to top up the coolant every once in a while, then leave it...

I guess I look at leaks of any sort as problems that need to be fixed.

If you don't care if it leaks, don't fix it.

You'll have to be more descriptive than that.

Eveytime I start the car I have to step on the gas in order to idle. and when I do, A **** load of white somg comes out of my mufflers. and when I try to put the idle in to high RPMs it dies out on 3500. and if I keep the car runing, the car just dies.

Have someone else start the car while you stand behind it. Smell that white cloud. Does it smell like burning oil, like gas, or does it smell sickly sweet?

Chances are you have a vacuum leak.

I suggest fixing whatever is wrong with the water pump. Then if the problem persists go onto something else.
