Exclamation Help!

I have an 87 fc NA that has been swapped with a t2 engine. The engine has been street ported on the intake and ported exhaust, the rotors are NA for higher compression, much larger injectors, premixed instead of omp, no emissions, no air pump, no evaporation, no egr, chipped ecu and an fmic. Now, the problem. It's extremely hard to start and when it does it doesn't stay running unless I play with the throttle. Even then it runs like Crap. And all of the idiot lights are on. Would any one have any clues as to what is wrong? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Define "chipped" ecu.

All of the Idiot lights on while the engine is running would describe a failing/failed alternator. But if the car is only sputtering at a low rpm they will come on too as the voltage will be low.

If "chipped" is RTek 2 then you can read the codes on your Palm.

You also need to verify that you've taken care of all the 13B basics, TPS, timing, plug wires all in the correct position, and compression.

If it's a fresh rebuild with used seals it seems that hard starts due to low compression is common; at least until everything breaks in.

If you used a JDM N374 ECU it could be that your back rotor isnt working.

The ECU is an N333 chipped with Rteck 1.8. All the ignition components test good. Also I should mention that is rodent like to go past 4000 rpm.

You have a rodent that likes to go past 4k RPMs?

Anyway, you may have a secondary fuel injector issue. You need to run a bigger fuel pump and possibly an adjustable FPR... You didn't mention which fuel pump you're running. I hope you're not using the stock TII fuel pump, and I REALLY hope you're not using the stock N/A fuel pump. What kind of exhaust do you have?

Why did you choose higher compression rotors with this set-up?

I went with the high compression rotors because the car will mainly be a track car. Unfortunately I am still running a stocm t2 fuel pump. I hope its not the injectors. I just got new ones. The exhaust is 3" from turbo back. And as far as the rodent goes... Steroids and energy drinks.

Bigger injectors require a better fuel pump.
