would a SuperCharger work on an FC?

At first I was thinking of going with twin turbos but now something about constant power for drifting seems scary to my competition! Lol I was wondering and had to ask the 13b experts, is a super charger a good choice and will it work on a rotary?

There are a few threads that would have answered your questions if you would have searched.

A good choice... No. Mainly for the fact that the price to power ratio is no good. You can get more power from a decent turbo charger set-up and still spend less money. Plus, they don't even produce them anymore. You'll have to find one used.

Yes, it will work on a rotary.

It's a cool concept... But it just isn't practical in a lot of aspects.

superchargers are much more limited than a turbo is.

main difference is the supercharger is always working to make more power, so low end response is better with the supercharger than the turbo.

and twins? a good single is as responsive as twins and will make more power.

Superchargers do not provide constant power, but the Roots and Lysholm types do provide relatively constant boost. Roots superchargers are inefficient and relatively inexpensive, and are good for about 8-12psi boost. Roots types are available from Atkins Rotary (Camden).
Camden SuperChargers - Get a Supercharger kit for you're Mazda Rx7 13B Rotary

You would need to fabricate a custom setup for a more modern Lysholm type supercharger.

Here is something to read for a general idea about supercharging rotary engines.

I apologize. Didn't know they still produced these for the 13B.

And the 20B?! Nice...

Go for a decent single turbo step up. It makes your life easier with more power.

From all of the information I've read in regards to supercharging, it seems far less appealing. I had always been interested in low-end torque without swapping a V8. The thing is, I also want an engine that is going to last a bit longer. A supercharger isn't going to help with that. I'll stick with my turbocharger.
