Hefty amounts of engine noise. Help!!!!!

was driving the car for like 300 miles total since I got it running. I went to drive it and my engine started making a loud knock noise. It shakes the engine and tranny and sounds like a piston engine with a thrown rod. Is it blown up or what could be the issue?

It's also seeping oil out of the timing pickup and the front main seal. And I tried to move it and I runs like ****! Is it possible to have blown out my front rotor and it is hitting the side housings?

Just try a poor mans compression test. Pull out the lower spark plug on the front rotor. Pull the egi fuse so it doesnt actually fire. Crank it and see if you get 3 solid constant chugs. If not, you lost a seal.

Sure. If it looses a seal, its rubbing bear metal on metal... And on top of that, you stated earlier that your front main seal was leaking. So you probably killed that bearing. Which will definitely make the scraping sound louder...

Would it be too screwed for a rebuild or can a rebuild fix the damage?

Their'll always be savage-able parts left in the motor. If your lucky, when you pull it apart, all you'll need is that front seal, a new rotor, and a new housing. Off the top of my head, thats a guess. All you can really do is pull it apart and see what went on it to see what needs to be replaced.

I'm thinking of sending it to banzai to have them do the rebuild. And geting it ported while it's there. Soo I guess I'll find out what all I dicked up by not having it rebuilt before I put the car together! Anyone have any work done by them?

As far as I know, banzai does some GREAT work. I'd suggest shopping around for some good prices on other rebuilds from other companies and see what you come up with.

You spun a bearing in the engine.

Naw. Man, your front eccentric shaft pulley BOLT came loose (lack of torque and locktite on the threads), and that's why you had the oil coming out the front of the pulley. Sounds like it's tooooo late now. The knocking was the play in the front assy flopping around back and forth.
