Heat / AC Foam Replacement

I currently have the dash out to relocate my heater lines but all the foam on the duct work is falling off/apart. For those of you who have done this before, what foam did you guys use to replace all of the duct work foam? It seems that I will need a closed cell kind of foam and I can buy some from McMaster-Carr but it would be nice to see the foam vs. buying blindly.

Thanks in advance

Check my restoration thread, page 9 or so. I just did the same thing. I think I even listed the McMaster-Carr part number.

Thanks Jerry. I did find your part number in your thread so that helps a lot.

Were you able to tell if the seal was good and that the foam was thick enough? Looking at the old foam it just seems thicker than the foam you used.

There may be room to go a bit thicker. The foam I used isn't super compressible, so I erred on the side of going a bit too thin. I moved all the doors around after everything was back together and I seem to remember any gaps being minimal. It will definitely be better than foam that is completely disintegrated.
