Headlights won't stay down???
Hey guys, my stupid uhh.. friend... hooked up the battery backwards for a second and the headlights popped up. now they won't stay down. if i crank them manually as soon as they get a little bit towards down they will cycle all the way down and back up again. the position switch doesnt seem to make a difference.
right now ive got the retractor fuse pulled out so they will stay down. the lights still light up, though. im not certain that they will stay on high-beam... i think they flicker back and forth or something goofy like that.
but mainly i am wondering why they refuse to stay down. can anybody point me in the direction of something to check?
thanks =)

If you hooked up the battery backward you could easily have fried a diode or something like that. By the way, I'm curious as to how you managed to invert the connections since they aren't the same size... Anyway as I said try changing your switch or check if it's still intact.

No, most battery poles are the same size.. I've seen it done a fair bit, pretty easy to do when some batteries don't have clear marking of which polarity is which, and it's a bit silly that the positions of them alternate.
Also I have a problem where my passenger headlight won't popup, but my drivers side works fine.. both light up no problem. Getting a bit sick of manually winding the light up when i drive at night..

No offence man... but, I think if you are careless enough to do it, you kind of deserve any problems you got.
Feel lucky it was just the headlight problem. Atleast it didn't fry your ECU or something else.

Manually put the lights up in the highest up position posible. Then put the fuse in with the lights in the off position. The lights should cycle down and up once then stay down.If not you might of smoked the Headlight relays. BTW if you hooked up the Battery backwards, the least of your problems is the lights IMO. Also the top post terminals on a Battery ARE NOT the same size but very close.
