Thumbs up headlights?

Ya know how there are 3 ***** on the left side of the FC gauges?

top one-rear deforst
middle one- pop up headlights
bottom one- parking lights on, headlights on, and headlights up

Well... how do i make it where the bottom ****
only turns the parking & headlights on??

I dont want them to pop up using the bottom ****.
I want them to pop up using the middle ****

Did I tell that understandably???

Well...you could do it the ghetto way and pull the headlight retractor fuse. But then the lights wouldn't pop up period...they'd just come on.

Why are you wanting to do this...?

or buy one of my rebuilt show style headlight switches that does that as a plug and play replacement to the stock switch.

Yep, I build a headlight switch that does exactly what the thread originator wants.

If you pull the fuse, you will have to reinstall it every time you drive at night in order to be able to use your headlights.

quick question aaron, is the red wire with white stripe the high beams? If not which wire is highbeams?

Do you think it would be okay if I ran two daytime running light switches(high beams and reg)?

Grounding the R/W wire brings on the low beams. It would not be okay to run high-beams during the day as they would be just as annoying to other motorists as they would be at night.

The mod on my website still allows you to flash the high beams with the lights retracted. Just pull back on the lever.

okay you got me, the part of the blinker lever that holds it on is broken. Many times during driving it just falls off(it sucks badly at night time). And I just wanted the option of turnin on high or low.

slightly off topic:

i've only seen pics of FC's w/ JDM lenses w/ their headlights off. like fogs on and JDM FTP on. when u do flip up the headlights and turn them on... do the JDM FTP turn-off? or is it all controlled by switch?

i was looking to pick up JDM FTP, but i might feel more comfortable picking up this switch (problems getting lenses in mint condition, seems like the switch is cheaper (non-dimming).

what is a better option the switch or the JDM FTP?

Here's a wild idea. Buy a replacement switch...

They are nothing more than front marker lights. They work exactly like the front marker lights you already have, they're just in a different place.

Let's compare: Under $10 to make your 55W headlights shine through the existing lenses and still allow the high-beams to flash through them, or $125 for 5W marker lights that disable the FTP function and are no brighter than what you already have. Tough decision that one...
