Headlights

I really dont like the pop-up lights and i dont have any money to get a conversion kit, but would it be possible to run a switch to the high beams and just turn those on at night?? If so does anyone know how i would go about doing it??

What, like shine through the FTPs? Just make a kill switch for the open/close motors and put the lights on.

actually, if you want, to behind the headlight control switch and wire a switch inline with the RED/BLUE wire. that's the headlight "up" wire. as long as there is no connection there, the lights won't go up but will come on. then just hit the high beam switch and there you go. and you can still pop up your lights if you want by flipping the switch on. you really can't see much at night with high beams through the FTP lenses.

If you can't afford a conversion kit, then be handy and make one yourself. I was going to make one for my Celica before I bought my 7. I do beleive CP will have a conversion kit ready very soon for 1st gens and are currently in the works for a 2nd gen kit.

Shining through the FTP lenses? That would be a very foolish idea. Not only would you be blocking most of the light's output (dramatically reduced vision), the light that did come out would be shining straight into other driver's eyes.

remove your headlight units...

replace with two D cell powered flashlights and hold down with zip ties and duct tape.

If you're the type that likes to fiddle around with your car,you can design yourself a custom set.

Actually...one thing I do with my car at night is "stealth mode"

Meaning, I'm flying down deserted country roads at night. Suddenly, I pass a good ol' sheriff's dept car doing at least 20 mph over the speed limit. Oops.

At this point, I find some familiar roads-chances are I know this place better than the cop. Then I turn the lights off, but pull the brights switch back. My rear lights are off, my front lights are low, I can see, but it's very difficult to see me. I then flee and hide from the cop, get passed, then get the hell out of there going the other direction.

Warning:

Kids, don't try this at home, that is very dangerous. And stuff.
