Smile Headlight Switch Kit(s) - Which one to get?

Well I wanted to come back to the forums since everyone has been so helpful, I wanted to get your opinions and suggestions on headlight conversion kits for my '88 GXL.

It has the standard sealed bulbs in it currently, but one of the bulbs burned out today so I would like to KEEP the pop-up lights and move to something that will allow me to just change the bulb than the whole bulky box bulb that comes with it.

I am not looking for anything fancy and I don't really want to put HIDs in it either.

So what are my choices guys and gals?

H4 conversion with halogen bulb, you can get DOT legal ones for cheap.

Bosch used to have a kit at local parts stores. Don't see it anymore.

But Google "Bosch H6054 conversion"...I think ours are the H6054's.

Paulo is correct..
also Hella makes the 6054 projection lamp cases too.

But have fun trying to change the bulbs out without taking the lamp out.
Regular lights are about 2 minutes to change..no biggie.
Just remove the lower light plastic and take 2 screws out of the top of the chrome bezel..bend back and pull the seal beam out.

Another idea is to get Sylvania Silverstar headlights (seal beams). They are brighter than regular sealed beams but are not the separate Bulb and case.

Silverstars are better than nothing but the real H4 conversion is much brighter.

And I don't get it Pixie-Styx, changing the bulb in a H4 housing is exactly the same as replacing a sealed beam.

.That is pretty well what I am getting at.
You can't change the bulb without removing the Lamp.(casing).
So,Ya,in essence it is just like changing a regular lamp.

Pixie is my mom's old dog...(ever see a chihuahua take a ride in a dryer????)

except when those little bastard screws are rusted to **** there is no reason to fear changing the bulb or light, its not like you have to do it every time you drive the car. Talking once and done.
