Headlight stuck

Ok so i picked up my '90 vert yesterday around six o clock and i drive it home for 7 hours and get ten minutes from home were me and my buddy stop a gas station to chill talk a bit then part ways to go to bed at 2 in the morning.

As were ready to go i figured ill fill up and im parked in the spots they have all around the gas station so i put it in reverse to back into a pump and for some reason i turn on the headlihts i dont know why but i did and the right one went all the way up and the left one only went up about a half of an inch and stopped both lights on but only one up so im like wtf put it in nutral (sp?) pull hte ebrake and pop the hood what i see is one of the spark plug wires cut in half and one end dragging stuck in my alternator belt but all the wires were new and the guy left the stock ones in the trunk so after i quickly shut off the car and pull the wires out i replace and start it up and it runs fine even better than with the new wires (when they were connected) it had less of a jumpy idle right after starting it.

Im pretty sure this happend just becuase the wires were too close and he left them just kinda of chilling htere not tucked anywere and they just got pulled in to the belt when they got close enough and got ripped up.

My freind though said the guy might have got the wrong amperage wires and they melted though and just ended up in the belt sine he said he saw no "rub marks on the belt" dunno what that means but hes kinda of a mechanic but knows nothing of rotarys.

Anyway after fixing that problem the right headlight still goes up and down but hte left is stuck right there. I cheked the fuse box and nohting looks to be blown. Ive seen other questions like this but at this time i couldnt find anything when searching. anyhelp would be apprecieated thanks.
Matt

Check the relay.

My right headlight started going up and down VERY slowly, and after a day or two it just stopped working. I'm pretty sure it's the relay...

Good luck.

The **** is in front, under the bumper and directly below the head light. There should be a roundish plastic cover covering it. Just pull it out and turn the *****, if the relay still work the **** would turn itself and would not let you adjust it.

Oh and does anybody know possibly how the wire would end up torn and melted like it did other than by what im thinking (got to close to alternator belt got ripped up and the exposed wire conducted on some sort of metal and was getting hot) I just want to make sure the stock wires wont do the same thing due to some other facter
