Please use the search feature on this website, this has been discussed quite a bit and there is LOTS of good information on this.

If you're going to make one, make sure it's shaped like a NACA duct and do all the ugly airflow calculations. Your power increase will be well worth the extra time.

it might HELP a little bit but I would not call it a performance enhancer....it's more of a LOOKS GOOD MOD
somethiong like THIS WILL be far more practical than a headlight scoop......

Madrx7racer: He never said he wanted to be able to use his headlights.
In all seriousness, I was thinking about gutting the right headlight and putting an air "scoop" right there that would go to a 3" intake tube and connect directly to the throttle body. (The airflow meter can be junked if you're going aftermarket ecu)
And then I realized I wouldn't be able to drive at night, so I just left the stock intake setup connected.

Dremel, Ball-Pine Hammer, Propane Torch, Bondo, Sandpaper Paint
Cut a slit in the headlight about 4/5 of the way back... heat up the metal, lay it on a bean bag and beatt it down to the front and up to the back untill you get a football shaped intake hole.. with a slight valley leading up to the hole, and a small mound behind it. smooth out the dents as best as possible (less putty), putty it, sand it, primer it, glaze it, primer it, paint it.. done
Best Pic I have right now... but you can see the opening on the pass cover
PS.. regardless.. you have to remove the little gutter flap from the hood or it wont have any affect at all (I know a guy who put one on and left the flap on the hood.... duh :
