headlight question

One of my headlights just went out, and I want to get a set of blue, or white replacements. I want it to fit in the stock setup. does anyone know where i can find these.

what is the size of the lights?

If you do much night urban driving, bulbs with brighter low beams really help.
Most are 35 watts low & 55-65 high.
GE 5064HO's are 55 watts low 65 high.

I hear H4's are the best if you have the $$.

The blue lights look cool but are poor in bad weather.

Sylvania makes some new nice bulbs that are suppose to be second best to HID they make an exact replacement and they are like 20 bucks a piece i've seen them at advanced auto parts but i'm sure other plaves carry em

I just replaced my headlights with the Cool Blue model from Sylvania and they do fit the stock headlight housings. I got mine at a chain store in NC called Pep Boys, but like totallimmortal said all auto parts stores should carry them. They cost about 50% more than standard headlights, but they work great, I can see quite a bit further at night with them. I highly recommend them. The part number starts with CB and is the same part # as a standard headllight.

I was just at pep boys the other night looking at all those Sylvania replacement lamps. I almost walked out of there with a pair of the XLs, but decided to save my money since my lights still work
Glad to see the positive feedback for the off-the-shelf upgrades.
the Sylvania Silver Star seems tempting, but $25 each instead of $12... and they're blatantly HID-knockoffs... not true HID. Anyone tried em?

I was in Pep Boys today in Raleigh and I checked on the Sylvania headlights, the part # is 6054 CB for an 89 RX7.

My buddy has the silverstars and he said that it isn't worth it, and he wouldn't buy them again. They just aren't that much brighter then the OEM replacement, its a dodge SRT4 tho.

i just put in sylvania halogen xtraview lights in mine, i think they were like 14 each at pep boys. they are a lot better than the regular halogen ones i had in before. they claim theyre 3 times brighter. i dont like that blue ****, its annoying to me when other cars have it.

Silverstars

I have the silver stars in mine and 100W halogen sylevania foglamps in. Adjust the foglamps to about 10 degress and you have yoru self a very decinet light set up. Until youre ready to drop all the cash on a true HID upgrade differenet mountings and other bulbs arent wirth the hassle. THe silver stars do great

good feedback guys. thanks.

I thought my bulbs were stock, but when I looked closer at them I saw Sylvania XV! I sure am glad I didn't buy a pair of those the other night! heh heh.

Anyway, I was able to improve my lighting a lot by (I swear to god) cleaning the lamps. That and lowering them a little. I think I will get the Silver Stars when mine burn out, or if I just have $50 to burn soon. thanks again for all the posts in this thread.
